No-code website builder
Build your website without code, at your own pace
A visual editor where you place blocks freely, check the result on three screens and publish when you're ready. Nothing to write, everything under your control.
Who it's for
Who this page is for
You've never built a website and have no intention of learning to code. Here's what you get, how you work and what stays in your hands.
Freelancers and the self-employed
You sell your expertise and you need a clear presence: a home page, a page presenting what you offer, and a contact form you manage yourself, without a middleman.
Tradespeople and shop owners
You want to show your workshop or shop, list your contact details, and change a photo or a price without calling anyone.
Consultants and coaches
What you offer changes often. You edit a line of text in place, add a page, and the site stays consistent with your visual identity.
Small businesses and non-profits
Present what you do, your events and your team using ready-made templates, and keep control of what goes live.
What you get
What you get
A visual editor designed for people who have never built a site. Every element is visible, movable and editable right on the screen.
Free-form block placement
Drag any block with your mouse, resize it with its eight handles, rotate it. The page comes together like a sheet of paper, not a rigid grid.
Three previews, one site
Desktop, tablet and mobile: check how your site looks on all three screens from inside the editor, before publishing, and fix anything that overflows.
Text edited in place
Double-click a heading or a paragraph: bold, italic, underline, colour, size, alignment and links are set right where the text appears.
Your colours on every page
Pick a colour palette for your site. It applies to every page, system pages included, and updates whenever you change it.
Complete templates to make your own
Start from a ready-made template with its pages and sections, then swap in your own text and images. Nothing is locked, everything can move.
One-click publishing, free subdomain
One click puts your site online on a free subdomain. Depending on your plan, connect your own domain name, with HTTPS set up automatically.
How it works
How you work
No training required. Open the editor, start from a template or a description of your business, and move forward one page at a time.
- 1
Choose your starting point
A complete template you make your own, or a description of your business that the AI turns into a full site, block by block, fully editable.
- 2
Place your blocks freely
Drag a heading, an image or a button wherever you like. Resize, rotate, undo if needed: every move shows up instantly.
- 3
Check the mobile view
Switch the preview to phone size: anything that overflows shows up at once, and you fix it before going live.
- 4
Publish when you're ready
Nothing goes live without your approval. Publish in one click, keep editing as often as you need, and publish again.
Real templates to start from
Open a template to see its actual rendering on desktop and mobile, then make it your own in the editor.

What does building a website without code actually mean?
Building a website without code means creating pages in a visual editor, often called a no-code website builder, without writing HTML, CSS or JavaScript. You work with blocks: a heading, a paragraph, an image, a button, a form. Each block is placed, resized and edited on screen, and what you see is what your visitors will see. Hosting, the HTTPS certificate, mobile previews and publishing are handled by the platform. You keep control of the content, the structure and the visual identity, without depending on an agency or a developer for every small change.
The difference between two no-code editors lies in how elements are placed. In a fixed grid, each block sits in a slot decided in advance. With free-form placement, you put a heading, an image or a button where you want it, at the size you choose. That freedom comes with a responsibility: on a phone, the reading order changes, oversized text gets cut off and a wide image spills over the edge. The previews catch this before you go live. The sitemap, SEO tags, redirects and structured data, on the other hand, come with the platform: you fill in or adjust them from your site settings, without touching any code.
No code does not mean no decisions. You choose your pages, your wording, your images and your structure; the AI can suggest a starting point, but nothing goes live without your approval. Some features are still in preparation, such as quotes, subscriptions or syncing with an external calendar: they are not available yet. A no-code site is still a site: it needs up-to-date content, complete legal notices and some attention to search engine optimisation. hej is designed, built and supported in France: support in French and English, and hands-on help on request (onboarding, migration, design, SEO).
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about building a site without code
01Do I need to know how to code to build a site with hej?
No. The editor is entirely visual: you move blocks, edit text in place and pick a palette. Not a single line of code is needed to build, publish or update your site. If you can use a word processor, you already have the basics.
02Will my site work on mobile?
Yes. What you see in the editor's mobile preview is what a visitor sees on their phone. If a line of text is cut off or an image spills over, you spot it and fix it before publishing, without rebuilding the page.
03Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, depending on your plan. A free subdomain is included from the start so you can publish straight away. You can then connect a domain you already own, or buy one elsewhere and attach it; the HTTPS certificate is installed automatically.
04What if I change my mind about the colours?
Change the palette in your site settings. Every page, system pages included, is recoloured in one go. There is nothing to redo page by page, and you can try again as many times as you like before publishing.
05Which features are still to come?
Some building blocks are in preparation and not available yet: the quotes and services module, subscriptions and memberships, rentals, event tickets and passes, a Google Business Profile listing, syncing with Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud, social networks, and new payment methods including PayPal. No dates are announced; we present each one when it is genuinely ready.
